If you're reading this you're probably asking at least one of these two questions:
1. What is a slut walk??
2. What do slut walks have to do with fashion??
Well slut walks are protests that were started to raise awareness about the sexual violence that millions of women experience each year and for what many say is caused by the way that they dress.
The fact that it's the 21st century and the worldwide consensus that women who dress in revealing clothes (or like sluts) are asking to be assaulted and harassed is beyond barbaric to me. There's still this double standard that men who have multiple partners are "just being men" while women who do the same thing or even dress in anything less than society's standards are considered "sluts".
Women do not ask to be sexually assaulted. The way we dress is not a valid reason to be "slut shamed" and treated in such a way.
The way we dress is called FASHION and not CONSENT.
I know that this post is completely different from what I usually post, but I just thought that I would inform you all of the movement that's been going on for a while now. Maybe it will move you to join in. :)
Here are some photos from some sluts walks that have already taken place. There's also a really interesting video about slut shaming at the very bottom:)
